OpenJDK 11 Preview brings an opportunity for the developers to test out their products on the new version before it is rolled out as a stable update. The Microsoft Build of OpenJDK is a no-cost distribution of OpenJDK thats open source and available for free for anyone to deploy anywhere. These backport fixes allow Microsoft to expedite fixes and improvements in the future which shall be available to all Java developers everywhere in the world. Older releases, which do not include the most up to date security vulnerability fixes and are no longer recommended for use in production, remain available in the OpenJDK Archive. OpenJDK 11 Preview has now been successfully installed on your device.
OPENJDK FOR WINDOWS INSTALL
Once it is complete, click Finish on the final page of the wizard. Also, do not install Java 8 on new computers (clients), but install OpenJDK 8 with IcedTea support. JDK 8 software is licensed under the Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java. The installation process should not take very long. On the next screen, click Install to begin the installation process. To do so, click on the icons next to the components, and then select the option from the context menu, as in the image below. Now, select which components you would like to install, and which you would not.
